I LOVE the monster tanks I've seen here! I'm in the process of putting together a big, but not monster, tank. It's only a 450g (120 x 24 x 36) that is going to replace my 120g reef tank. I would like some of the bigger tangs in my reef and I need a LOT more room in order to keep them.

My predator tank is also going to be moving into a bigger tank, probably something along the lines of a 345g but one tank at a time. :)

I already have the sump and filtration system setup to handle this volume although I'll probably add another large skimmer to the skimmer tub.

I just wanted to introduce myself and say I'm REALLY impressed with the tanks people have put together. I'm here to learn! :)

Well, I USED to think it was a monster until I started reading about some of the other builds documented here. :jaw-dropp

Here is the room where it will go. It's going to go against the wall to the right:

Obviously we aren't done yet but it's a good start.

And the tank itself:

It's drilled for a closed loop and I'm probably going to use a Sequence Hammerhead for that purpose. I already have a Barricuda for the return from the sump.

The tank has been cleaned, the broken center brace has been removed, a new 2' x 2' 3/4" glass replacement has been ordered. The silicone is in great shape all the way around. In fact, I had a heck of a time getting the broken piece off.

I'm building the stand for it out of 4x4 (15 of them) legs (40" tall), 2x6 frame with 5 cross braces. Then I'll add a red oak cabinet finish on the outside, including a canopy for the top.

I ordered 4 400w, 14k metal halides to light the tank. It's going to take a few months before this tank is filled and the cycle begins.
