I am a newbie.
I just got a 100 gallon tank setup with 5 jardini frys and 2 cory and a pleco.
I am using AquaClear 110 Aquarium Power Filter to clean it and a Fluval E 330 watt heater set at 79F.
As I am new I am learning a lot recently with many thanks to forums like MFK and other blogs.
I am also setting up a B. dubia roach colony to feed my jardini once they get larger. For now I am feeding them bloodworms.
My tank has been running for almost a week now and I hope everything goes well from here.
The jardinis fight every now and then but I am thinking that is normal because they are aggressive creatures but they are similiar in size so I hope they can co-habitat.
I would really like to have asian arowanas but since I am new I figured i should start off with jardinis since the frys only cost me $20 each. I hope by the end of 2011 I can grow them up to 12-15" and healthy. By then I will re-evaluate my setup and fishes, maybe a bigger tank and look for other fishes and arowanas.

Hello and welcome to MFK!

Nice tank, equipment and stock list! Make sure you have a Master Test Kit to keep an eye on your water. With having that many fish in an uncycled tank, your parameters are going to be off the charts. You will want to keep a close eye on things and be prepared for water changes.

Nice job though! Again, welcome to MFK! See you around the forum :)

hi CLD, thanks for your comments and greeting.
I appreciate your suggestion about the master test kit.
I will look into it.
My AC 110 power filter has a carbon and biological filter.
I believe that means it should incorporate bacterial colonies to help clean the tank and keep it balanced.
So far the water tank is very clear but it has only been a week, so far so good.
The fishes are very small right now at less than 2 1/2 inches each.

HI AND WELCOME TO MFK!! Sorry I didn't read your whole post, cause my attention span is really short! lol but we are glad you are here..
