Turtles are my pleasure and hobby. I been around with turtles for a long time. I have 2 diamond back terripans, 2 eastern terripans in a 125 gallon long aquaruim. A eastern painted turtle that i have had for over 20 years living with my mother in a 40 gallon tall. I also have acquired 35 koi that my mother has collected for many years in her front yard pond that was very small for that many koi. (It was 5 foot diameter and 2.5 feet deep.) Last year i built 2 ponds in her back yard. An above ground pond 10 feet long x 4 feet wide x 3 feet deep i have 3 mississippi map turtles living in that pond fro spring to fall inside in a 65 gallon for winter. Then a lower pond in ground pond 10 feet x 6 feet by 3 feet deep for the koi. Koi live in pond year round. The pond together create a L shape . This year will be my cosmetic for the ponds. During the winter this year I am building a 125 gallon aquarium stand and topper with a custom basking platform for the terripans because last year they where laying eggs on the platform i have in there now. My platform with be 1/4 of the tank and will have 6 to 7 inches of sand for digging for egg laying also above the water line. I have pictures of every thing and building pictures as well I have to put them all on my computer from my phone. Ill do them soon promise.

Any ideas from are welcome and I would love to hear every one else's stories. I am so excited and wish every one luck.

thanks

Ok right your Irish so i figure this is not a language barrier thing.... But what the hell "turtle with no legs" if you asked a sensible question you might get a response. I'll fill in the gaps and presume you mean a turtle with flippers, in which case if you want fresh water then fly river turtles are what you are looking for!

welcome to mfk Stosh.. enjoy the forum and if you have questions just ask..

Thanks everyone I sure will asks. And hopefully be able to answer at times as well. Lol thanks again
