Hi. My name is Will. I've got a 55gal i bought from walmart a few years back and i had 1 oscar, 2 pacus, and an arrowana. Being the novice, i tried adding other only to get eating. I moved to NC, and gave all my fish to friends. Now i have recently started up my tank again. I bought a small red oscar, clown loach, green terror, firemouth, some sort of a purple spotted gar, 2 of the blue dolphin looking cats (sorry i dont know the names as well as you guys seem to) and 1 needle nose. there are also about 6 12cent gold fish. i threw in to make sure the tank was safe. I figured they would be food by now but they have managed to get fat, and thus havent been eating yet. I think i may have over croweded my tank becasue i currently one have 1 HOB filter and my water is kinda white and cloudy. Which is what lead me here, this week i'm gonna atempt the DIY overflow and W/D scrubbie filter. hopefully that will add some volume to my setup, and give me my much needed filtration.
I do have 2 questions. I see ALOT of abbvrevations for parts and fish. As a newb is there a list i could reference til i get them all in my head? Second, is anyone here local to eastern NC?
