Hi, i have been in the fish business for years. Presently i have a 120 Gallon tank with 1 Male motoro stingray in it. Doing very well, looking at getting a female for him soon. He is coming up to one year old.

Also have two other tanks, 55 gallon with various fish in it, and a 75 gallon tank with various fish in it.

What my mnor problem is right now is, the ray loves the Shark formula frozen food by ocean nutrition, having a hard time getting it up here in canada, any one know where i can get it or a link to a website that sales it!!

I am getting low on the shark formula but i do still have about 10 trays left. Also he loves forzen raw shrimp tails off, and loves raw squid.

Also if anyone knows where i can get a female motoro ray in the next month or two let me know. I need to get it shipped to ontario here in canada.

HOpe to hear from you all or some of you anyways. LOL

Regards Andy Dale

It looks like the shark formula has been discontinued.
As Gshock said your best bet is to get a new tank for your male first and then worry about the female. You probably don't have much longer before the male has outgrown that tank and there definetly isn't any room in there for another female. If it was me I would get a new tank sized for both the male and female, put the male in that and growout a new female pup in the 120 or get a female ray that is bigger than your male and put them both in the new tank once it is cycled.

Ok guys thanks for the help and advice,i will look into acquiring a bigger tank and wheni get a female pup grow her up until she is bigger then introduce them.

Too bad about the shark formula, my ray loves it. Oh well, when i run out will look into something else.

Regards Andy.

Where in ontario are you? If you want to get a pair, I would probably suggest looking for someone who wants to sell a bigger female. Theres been quite a few people in toronto recently that are unloading some bigger motoros. Its a bit risky when you have a bigger male with a smaller female .

Hey Gshock:

I am in the Sarnia Area which is about 3 hrs from Toronto. I can make it down there if i find one and yes i would probably like to find a bigger one that is almost as big as my male is now.

He is about 11" across now and was about 5 to 6" when i got him last may.

If anyone knows a contact number or website to check out for the toronto area let me know.

THanks

Andy

OK thanks Gshock, i will look them up. I am not in any great rush, just thought i would start looking, i have another huge aquarium that i can put any stingray i get if they or it is smaller than what my male is now. Its been running for months.

I looked on Kijiji, and found someone in the TO area selling 2 motoros for 200.00. Just waiting to hear back from them.

Thanks. Andy.
