Has anyone kept a Chinese Hi fin Shark? It is a cyprinidae sold to live with Goldfish. I just want to know how cool they really need to be kept to keep them from wasting (in the summer mytank climbs to the high 70's)
thanks

if your asking " are they easy to keep"? yes they are.
If your asking can they be kept in cooler temps? yes they are.

i have kept one...but i didn't know that they grew big....so i gave them up.

I'm in Aus and one tiny one came into the LFS where I work, and of course in this country that equates then to being a $400 fish.

Somewhat unintelligently the powers that be decided to keep it with Discus in a 30 degree Celcius, 6.2 Ph tank..:screwy:

Of course there was intense confusion when it subsequently died a few weeks later. :irked:

Sad. One of my tanks has big goldfish and I wanted something less stereotypical to throw in there. We'll see what I decide to go with, but if I can get a healthy hi fin I think I will give it a shot

Hey John how long did it take for it to grow that big??? I've read they grow slow. The lfs near my work has a few and will be 50% off in 2 weeks...:D
