If you can get vent shots, it helps if you have two people. One to hold the fish upside down in a net and another to take a picture.

EDIT: I can see the texas's vent in the picture. He looks like a male, because his is narrow and pointed. Females are generally larger and blunt/rounded. You planning on breeding red texs or something?
 
Yes, the Tex has a vent that is pointy and tipped backward. I felt it was male I just want to be 100%. As for the BP, I just got it... from petsmart. The Tex needed company. They get along great. The BP is def. the boss. I've never bred fish, but if they were to breed, that;d be awesome. I would get a tank for their offspring, because theire offspring would be pretty cool lookin! Thanks for your help.
 
Oh, and does the tex know if the bp is male or female? He turns to his side a bit and shakes his body. His colors brighten and his underside turns black. does this mean the BP is female and he is trying to mate? If the BP was male, would the tex be fighting instead?
