Hi,

My name is Bernd, I'm 46 years old and from Germany. I just subsribed to this forum and thought it was a good idea to introduce myself first ;)

I'm currently keeping rainbowfish, crayfish and shrimp in 7 tanks and will extend the number of tanks up to approx. twenty in spring.

With Canon SLRs I started around 12 years ago, so my first DSLR was of course a Canon, too. For some years I took portrait shots and then I was inspired by some photos Hristo had taken which I saw on another forum. To be honest, my first attempts of taking fish photos have been a big disaster six months ago :-D

After a lot of failures and trying and trying and listening to experienced photographers my feeling now is that I'm on the right way. Still at the beginning but on the right way.

And it's funny to see some guys here who I already know ;)

I'm looking forward to joining discussions and getting some useful tips from you.

Cheers, Bernd

Welcome to APF, Bernd!
Everything Andreas has written is correct and we all trust him completely, except when he mentions birds: he is very sound on fins and scales, but the poor fellow can't cope with feathers :lol:

@Andreas, Thank you ;)

@Hristo, after your words I don't know if this is the right place for me. Lots of people already bored by rainbowfish photos. There is not soo much more I can offer...:-D

@Alan, Andreas and feathers....I've no idea what that means but maybe he likes this one :

...and this is definitely not a rainbow :-D

Bernd

What a pretty birdie!
Of course we want to see your rainbows. We know and love Hristo's, but it's always fascinating to see the way different people photograph similar fishes.
We're all friends here, so we tease each other quite a lot - you're welcome to join in as soon as you want to :-D

Bernd, welcome to APF. Saw your photo in Andres' contest the other day and then found your blog on the breeding of werneris, my new favorite fish. Your two shots posted are awesome. Yours and Hristos are the only ones I have seen that are good, I need to get healthier fish to try again with.
