hello everyone,
new to forum and monster fish. i have wanted to own monster fish for a while and have finally talked my missus into letting me get on with it. there has always been one fish that has fascinated me, the red tail catfish. i know how big and demanding these fish are and that is the reason it has taken me so long to finally get one. after browsing the net and mainly this forum as a guest i have fallen in love with a couple more monster fish, the shovelnose catfish and arowana. so i now have all 3. i got all 3 about 3 weeks ago. they are only tiny but are all growing fast. at the moment they are in my baby tank, its 4x2x2 feet, the other fish i had in there before are a redtail shark, 2 bumblebee catfish and a couple of blue lobster. my 3 new monsters will be making there way into my big tank as they grow a bit bigger, my big tank is 7x3x2 feet. that should do them for a while, then its onto my next project, either a tropical pond or a huge plywood tank build, still not decided on which yet but whichever it is will be built by the end of next summer. i plan to add a stingray either a hysrtrix or montora over the next week.

anyway, just thought id say hi and tell everyone what monsters i have chosen and what my plans are. im sure ill have many questions for you all, especially with my tropical pond or huge plywood build. ill post some pics of my little beauties in a bit.

thanks for the warm welcome.

i ordered a hystrix stingray today. will be here tomorrow, very excited. i think that will be the last of my monster fish.

Nice update pics when it arrives :)
I got my first ray couple of weeks ago , so far so good

a little update. my ray arrived. i ordered a hystrix stingray from the site for £80. but i dont think i got a hystix. the ray i got looks alot more like a motoro, which is £120-£160. pics below. im very happy with him either way. he is already eating and seems to be playing with the bubbles from airstone, lol.
