I am some what new to fish keeping, but think my story an old one. about 9 months ago my youngest son saw an old 10g tank in the garage and asked if he could get a gold fish to put into it, i said sure and off to the LFS we went, well? he saw this shark looking cat, (bulls eye catfish) and wanted that, in the mean time I saw this cooling looking fish all by himself (tiger oscar), so we picked up these little guy, no bigger than 1.5" apiece, got them in the tank with some prime and i went on the internet to learn what I could about these little fish. To my suprise this little oscar was going to get up to 12 to 16 inches and was a fast grower. cat was going to get to 6". also learned about cycling. this explanes the tank deaths 40 years ago, who knew? and so the tank upgrades started, 10g to a 30g, 30g to a 75g, 75g to a 95g and now a 175g. its 9 months later. I now have a 175g with one 10" oscar, 2 JD, 6" and 4" , male and female, 6" cat and a 9" common pleco. every one is happy but keeping an eye on it. 95g Jag tank, wild caught female, just her. 75g glo tank, is the wifes now. 35 barbs, tetras, danios, corys. 30g tank with 2 juvenile JD, they get next upgrade.
