Hi,

I'm dan and I'm an addict ;)

I've just recently gotten into the whole aquarium game after starting with 5 guppies in a 22L tank. Within 2 weeks I had ordered a custom 75L tank with the excuse of giving the guppies more room :D I've now got a little school of panda cories, a few black neon tetra and a couple of cockatoo cichlids. The guppies are still in the 22L tank.

I'm now gagging for a 1000L+ tank as I just can't get enough. I'd like a big school of pandas, a big school of geos and a few other big schools as well as a ton of big swords and crypts.

...one day :)

Welcome to MFK, im curious to know what kind of stock the local fish stores in NZ keep??? Anything odd or big? > Arowanas? Stingrays? Australian Lungfish?

Sounds like me. :) Someone gave me a 2.5g hex tank a couple months ago, I started looking up info on fish, and within 3 days was planning how to fit a 75g tank in the bedroom. This fish business, it's worse than heroin.

Thanks all. I've taken the next step and purchased a 700L that needs a bit of TLC and a stand and sump made for it. Awesome summer project time.

Thanks. It's all a bit limited here due to the high bio-security focus of the local authorities (for good reason) and the full list of what we are allowed isn't imported due to the small market. It's a real hassle for the importers to bring in something special that is allowed but isn't imported regularly as they have to go through some serious quarantine periods and a lot of testing on the batches that do come in. The fish we do have are great though.

We're a non-venomous (mostly) country with no snakes or spiders that can do any major damage so venomous stingrays aren't allowed. We do get a few Aro's and the ones that are here are well looked after (in most cases). I haven't looked for lungfish, I'll check it out. Actually - David R would likely know off the top of his head :)

Hi Dan. Nice to see more kiwis into South American fish! 1000L with geos, pandas and a big school of tetras would be epic!!

This is the plan for the 700L! I was wondering what I was going to do and had totally forgotten about this idea.

On another note - your tanks are awesome! It was readying your build threads that got me hooked on the idea of something bigger. I truely admire the work that you put into this crazy hobby.

I wonder if I can get a panda school to rival Henward's 4 million clown loaches?
