Hi, my name is Ed Ruiz, I keep Orinoco Altum, Heckel Discus, Green Discus and some wild Betta, among other species. Been a member for a while but never actually posted anything. I'm Senior Admnistrator at www.finarama.com where we deal with wild Pterophyllum and a strong emphasis on Pterophyllum altum.
I'm originally from Venezuela (Maracaibo) and have a background in Aquatic Biology which I studied for 5 years in Zulia State University (79-83). I am a professional English-Spanish Translator and Interpreter, specializing in Medical and Bioscientific material and Medical Interpretation.
In respect to the hobby, I have explored and collected Venezuelan OTF covering about 70% of the Orinoco Basin (Middle, Upper and first 1/3 of the Lower Orinoco) and Casiquiare, into the Rio Negro watershed. Keeping fish since the late 60's.
Regards
Ed
