What's up with your Oscar's tail? I hate to tell you, but it looks like he has something wrong with him.

He's a Veil-Tail Oscar, otherwise a Long-Fin. His Tail is common, it will be long and flowing like a Betta.

I have only been in the hobby for about 2 years, I thought for sure that would be fin rot. How long have you had the Oscar?

Since July when he was about 2-3 inches long. Are you talking about the bottom half of his tail? the long jagged part? Or the white tips?

The white tips near the top of his tail, the tail just looks corroded or eaten at, in my opinion. He is a gorgeous oscar too, by the way. I dig his coloring and pattern.

Thanks, he just started coloring up. His fins may seem like that but they are the usual white tips oscars get. Being a VT oscar the tail is jagged, so it won't look as curvy smooth.
