Hi i bought a Gar today can someone ID it please

Hi all i popped into a Fish shop today 1st time in ages really as kinda got the fish i wanted, but i had never seen a Gar for sale and it was the last one in a cichlid tank

its only small and its in with about 6 Texas there quite small between 1.5" and 3",

Could some one possably identify this fish so i can learn a little more about it,

I agree, not a true gar. However, at least you'll be looking in the right places to ID this fella.

somewhere(in California) called "Silver Gar"

look like male ...the last bottom fin is only one, if pair fin that's female.

It would be in "Other Characins" under "Forums" -- "Other Monster Fish", I think.

thats what it is..they are also called fresh water barracuda..had a couple..would not eat anything other than live..gave it back to lfs finally.

I thik it was a rocket "gar". i think its the hujuta thing.
