Hi, Wonderfull site you have here!

I have been planning on getting an Arowana for my new Aquarium. After much thought and contemplation I changed my mind and I will be getting 10 RBP's hopefully by tomorrow. I have a 90 gallon tank started with a Magnum 350 canister filter and a penguin 400 bio wheel filter. I hope my lovely new school will be happy in this home for a while. After they grow I will most likely get rid off some fish to cut my school down to about 5.

I look forward to conversing with you all on this forum. :)

good luck on keeping all 10 of them , if they are small you might end up losing to cannabalism as they are pretty nasty when they are young , provide lots of hiding places such as drift wood and tall plants and they should be ok for a while , but they do grow very quickly , just to let you know mate

I have actuall had pretty decent luck with pretty simalar setups, if the temp is not to high in the tank, the p's are well fed, and the tank is well maintained you may have a shot at keeping most of them. no doubt though that not-so-natural selection may take 1-2 of them before a year is up. consider a six foot tank, they would be alot less crowded in a tank that has a larger foot print

I ended up with 1 stupid fish after 10 of them. Dumbest fish ever.

well I actualy now have only 8. But 1 was 99% dead by the time I got him home, and the other one died because he got sucked into the filter intake tube. I have since put a guard on it. They are all doing well and are growing nicely. They are not afraid of me during feeding time either. They will eat as soon as food hits the water. they dont like bright lights though...

With any luck you can sell them and be rid of one of the dumbest fish on the planet. Good luck!

Sounds like you have the start of a good shoal, A few plants like pygmy lotus or dwarf pond lilies will help them get over that light aversion.

I have 10 mixed pygos in a 125 gallon tank. All are healthy and growing well. Good luck with yours.
