I'm keeping my senegal at 5inches with my jardini also at 5 inches right now. and they are best buds with the jar taking occasional bites at the senegal which doesnt bother the senegal at all.

they are both feeding solely on mealworms and they really love it :).

I know the jar is gona grow to like 24" or more.

I just want to know how big can my senegal grow to? do they get nearly as big and thick as the endlies? I WOULD ABSOLUTELY DIG THAT IF THEY DO!

:nilly:

oh if you have a really big senegal can you please post a picture of it here? THANKS!:D

Usually they max out around 12 inches and kind of thick for their size but not Endli thick. From what I have read the Jar will out grow the Sen in a very short time as Sens slow down in growth around the 7 inch range.

Senegal bichir can grow too 12 inches. when he reaches 8 inches the growth will slow down. I would consider to move the Senegal when the Jar is 10".
You could get an Ornate.

senegals will get around 10'' rarely they get 12'' so the jar will out grow and eat the senegal soon

i'd get a bigger species of polypterus like ornate or even endli

on a side note jardini can become very aggressive so its possible no bichir can be kept with it
