I've found some excellent info on this site, and I look forward to learning a lot more! I'm in the process of setting up a 110 gallon tank for my cichlids, who are breeding like crazy. Time to move a few into a bigger tank! Yay! I also have plans for a 300 gallon tank, but have to wait a bit due to my hubby thinking I may need an intervention for my fish habit. :D

welcome to mfk :D post up pics! looking forward to seeing them :D

Glad to here there is someone else from Seattle WA that is into fish! I thought I was all alone...

welcome! Fish addictions are regular here so you are in the right spot.
This is the bar for fishaholics :D

welcome to mfk.. nice to meet you and glad you decided to join this great forum.. any questions just ask me.. have fun... i know you will...

Thanks for all the welcomes! Also nice to see another Seattleite on here. :) To answer your questions, I have mostly Malawi cichlids, with a cherry shrimp/baby pleco tank, just to try out a planted tank for once. My current tanks are:

  • 110 gallon (not set up yet - I need to buff out some scratches)
  • 75 gallon (most of my cichlids live here)
  • 55 gallon (new and cycling)
  • 30 gallon breeder (now holding a pair of Aulonocara sp. "lwanda" in quarantine, who will go into the 110 gallon when it's ready)
  • 30 gallon long (this is the shrimp/pleco/plants tank)
  • 10 gallons (2) babies!
  • 5 gallons (2) more babies!
So far I've had a ton of fun setting up tanks and taking care of my pretty fish friends. I'm going to have to figure out what to do with the fry soon, though - they keep making more! I feel bad letting the fry get eaten, so I've been separating the holding females from the main tank so they can have their babies in peace.
