Whats going on, im new to this site, been looking for a place where i can find some help. Im going to be getting a betta in the next few weeks, with a 5 gallon tank, and i would like some help from any and everyone that will help. I was wondering what kind of tank mates can i have in with my betta? What kind of plants can i have in the tank with them? What kind of bedding in the tank should i have? Do i need a filter and a bubbler(the bubble machine i cant think of the actual name of it) in there?

You will need a small filter, but you shouldn't need a bubbler, since unlike most fish, bettas can actually breath atmospheric air. Some easy to care for plants like duckweed, hornwort, anacharis, and crypts will work great.

yea i know to keep bettas them self's, altho i did have a betta with a single zebra fish and they were just fine, but i know no other fish in the tank with them

cool i still need to figure out how to do the water cycling, so what would be a good bottome feeding tank mate for my betta?

Maybe a few ghost shrimp, not much else will fit in a tank that small.
