Hey Guys im new here,
Just got question on stocking my new 360 gallon cichlid tank:naughty: that will be going in the wall, me and my dad have picked out all the species we like... but we don't know what can go together without to much issues lol ...
Jaguar cichlid
Salvini Cichlid
Wolf Cichlid
Red Devil
Jack Dempsey
Green Terror
Texas
Oscar
Convicts
Red Terror
What Can Go With What In A Tank That Size
Thnks

Theres a lot you can do, but a lot of those fish have extremely bad tempers, the fish that will not work:
wolf cichlid
Jaguar cichlid
Red terror

A few notes:
Oscars are very passive, lazy fish, not good with terrors or parachromis ( jaguars and wolfs )
Red terrors can/may not get almost 2 feet long, like 20" and thats like getting two green terrors packed into a 2' foot fish, not good
Salvinis are aggressive but small, wont be able to stand up to parachromis and terrors
Red devils will terrorize the oscar, jack d, and salvini and kill them

Something that would work:
1 Green terror
1 Texas cichlid
1 Midas or red devil
1 Jack dempsey
4 Male convicts
dithers ( lots of 'em ) ( giant danios, silver dollars, tinfoil barbs, synodontis' )

But with fish with those attitudes be prepared to return some fish

360 gal. whoa! I'd go Large African Haps for showcased color and a greater activity level but you can grow some big new worlds in that size tank.

To dispell some wrong info - Jag's are territorial not mass murders they do well in community settings so long as they got enough room - in 360 no worries.

The male dovii ( wolf cichlid ) can reach 2 feet in captivity and will more than likely make the tank his/her own. A pair of Dovii in 360 would be the ultimate new world
cichlid monster tank. Eliminate the Dovii and your stock list will still be crowded.

Red Terrors @ 2ft in captivity.............no try Males 16" at max. same size as the Jag and Oscar after about 7 years. Females 12-14" Male Red Terrors are down right serial killers when they breed if you don't get a pair the male is the exact opposite in a community - the female is far prettier and always has an attitude but hardly a serial killer - she'll do just fine.

Green Terrors are nasty as adults however they have a poor immune system by design - I'd clear up some room by eliminting the GT.

On to the Grow really fast - Texas, Midas/Red Devil, Oscars. The Texas will bully the tank because of their fast rate of growth and extreme additudes- take'm off the list.

Convicts meaning more than one - breed like mice- I swear the females are born pregnant(not) - take'm off the list.

Salvini's like Jags need territory also like Red Terrors in pairs they are deadly - A one single Salvini will do just fine - males can reach about 8"

IMO Stocklist - Jag ,Oscar, Midas or Devil, JD, Female Red Terror, male Salvini - Could also through in some hooks to get some silver and constant activity.

hey,
Do you think i could get away with
1 Female Jag
1 Female Red Devil Or Midas ( Whats less Agressive ?? )
1 Male Salvini
1 Male Jack Dempsey
1 Male Green Terror
1 Male Texas
4 Male Convicts
A Couple Of Synos
A Few Dither/Targets
All Raised From 2 Inches ???
Thanks

The midas and red devil are equally agressive but I highly recommend putting at least one in the tank. They are entertaining. Also if you stock your tank with 2" fish you won't know what sex most of the fish on your list will be for a while. Jaguars are awesome fish also. If I had a tank that size this would be my stock list.
1 male midas/devil
1 jaguar either sex
1male convict
1 fem. convict
1 firehead (synspilum) because i have always wanted one!
1 texas male
1 ebjd or grn. terror
maybe a cat or two..
I would see how these do together with plenty of cover for the less aggressive to escape to. The convicts will breed but with a cave to retreat to the other fish will steer clear.
Good luck and post pics!

i feel like in a tank that size the only one that i would say is a definitely a no is a wolf(dovii). for the red terror if you get a female you'll be fine. if you get a male red terror or a jag it just depends on their personalities.

those are the main two concerns but since those are all big boys any of them could potentially be a problem. red devils and grown up texas also have a nasty reputation.

get lots of hiding places and it could work out. i know somebody who keeps a jag, 2 red terrors(festea), 2 mota's, a texas, and a GT in a 210. He has massize filtration but besides that i don't think that he has that much trouble with them. he's even able to keep them with a lot of plants. he says that the secret is keeping the water temp up and feeding them well. the high temperature will raise they're metabolism. i always thought the opposite but he's the one with the aquarium.

also texas cichlids will get the crap beat out of them until they reach matuirity. then they'll do a 180 and start tearing people up. you should look into less common fish too. like trimacs, blackbelt, red head, or something (not a dovii) from the parachromis family. but i still really like all the fish that you listed. good choice!
