Hi i was just wodnering i have a 2 inch tiger oscar grew half an inch in last 17 days but hes in a 15 glalon growout, is this too small for him to gorw to about 3-4 inches? my jd and convict he is going in with is 4 inches and the jd is 5 he needs to eb able to stand his gorudn hes already very aggressive so amybe 3 icnhes would do but is the tank to small for him to grow to be that quickly?, also i am buying for my jd and socar and pleco a 100 gallon or more tank ina few months

wow. maybe its just me but i had to read your post a few times just to understand it. sorry. i think you would need a bigger tank for an oscar to "grow out" in than a 15 gal. they should grow 1 inch every month for the first year of its life.--reaching at least 12 inches. you need a much bigger tank to put all these guys in than just a 100 gallon tank, and a few months sounds too far out since your convict is 4 inches long, and the jack is already 5 inches.. you cant cram them all in a 15 gallon tank and just let them fight it out. that would be inhumane and cruel.

in short, yes-the tank is too small and it would be too many fish in a 15 gallon.

Ditto

they arent going in a 15 gallon, the oscars just in that until i put him in a 60 gallon with the jd, and the convicta dn pleco are in a 55, he will only be in the 60 for 2 months mayeb then hes in a 110

if you get a 100 gallon it should be fine just make sure you have eceptional filtration, and yes it will grow to 4 inches in a 15, just look at how many people (the idiots) put Oscars in 10 gallons and they grow to like 6 or 7 inches

Don't get a 110. Its a waste of money, because you can't keep anything more in it that won't fit in a 75. A 4 or 5 foot 120 gallon would be good, and I think there are also five foot 100 gallon tanks. Spending extra money on a tall tank isn't worth it. A 6 foot 125 would be even better.

im thinking the 125 wlel im workin at my lfs the sumemr whatever money i can get from that and selling of my new baught in december 55 gallon tank with ervythign needed.

Working at the LFS is a good idea - extra money, knowledge, and easy access to goods and stock.

Was thinking of doing one day a week myself just for the employee discount...And maybe a request for the next fish order :naughty:...
