hi
this will be my first attempt at a proper tang setup

i already have acquired a new tank with dimensions 4'x2'x2'

will be getting somewhere around 30kgs of round edged rocks
10kg of crushed coral
for substrate i plan using thick golden sand
will be having an all black background

as of now the fish i will be starting with are
6 regular brichardi
6 albino brichardi
4 yellow leleupi
6 julidochromis marlieri
(all the above are all juvis an inch or so big)

will add shells once i find some
till then this will do

will be adding a top filter with a rate of 180g/hr

any thing that i must know or i might be missing might help
and any other fish that i can add
and i do plan adding a few calvus too(once i find them here)

i have a few synodointis ocellifer (4.5" - 5"+)too which i want to add
will it be a good idea or leave it as it is

thank you for any help
and no pics yet unless you just want pics of the empty tank the hood and the stand.

you need better filtration definetly

you mean to say that 1.5 times filtration will be less :confused:

I agree that you'll need a the second source of filtration.. I'd consider a Canister filter to go along with the HOB filter.

Its a good idea to filter the tank water at least 3-4 times per hour.. From the demensions listed you have a 120g right?

yup its a 120g tank

I agree that you need more filtration, either a canister or a wet dry. If you use HOB filters you will need to hit 10x per hour at least.

well i think then a canister filter is the one i am looking for

any other suggestions
