Hello,new here and i would like to say this is a great site.Well I am 33yrs old & have kept many american cichlids.{festaes,umbees,gts,rds,oscars,jags & many others}But of all the cichlids i have owned DOVII are my favourite by far.I use to own an 18inch male who loved his girl but sold them stupidly. I am pretty sure that dovii is a female. Awesome fish!!!
 
man i need more help than i thought especially about puting up pics.Any help on sexing would be great.This is the little bugger above.
 
Does anyone know if small females[dovii]can lose there black horizontal band when frightened and this photo doesnt show it but this fish has a lot of small blue spots on its cheecks[gills].Any info or apinions would be apreciated.thanks.
