Hello to the forum!
I am new to fishkeeping and am currently setting up my very first tank, a 75 gal FW with sand substrate and artificial plants and some driftwood for the BN cat I will add later. Filtration is an AC110 and either another AC110 or a Rena XP3 (large) with an Aqueon Pro Heater, 250W. Lighting to be a 48 inch single bright LED. Just finished building my wood canopy this past weekend (pics below). I am very happy with how it turned out. I have cats who will be nosy and needed something very substantial to protect the tank!!!
After fishless cycling (in about 2-3 weeks, as I have to buy my water) I will be doing an initial stocking with 12 neon dwarf rainbowfish (4 males, 8 females) and 14 harlequin rasboras. About 2 months later, I will slowly begin adding 8 emerald cats, 8 otocinclus and 1 BN cat. I have been doing serious research the last 4 months and also belong to the Aquatic Community forum. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the research and getting to know the forum members at AC. I look forward to interacting with everyone here also.
I am so excited (and a little nervous) that I'm finally getting close to cycling. I know I will have questions and will need the help of those more experienced than I.
