I took a pic of my camera, thinking I'd just attach it to my last post but no joy, which I have NO clue how to use, but.....it says "Canon EOS 50D". It has tons of settings. My belle mere rules.

I know...run-on sentence.

Thanks ragin cajun. The background to my tank is black, so that helps lol. I mess around with the lighting a lot. These pictures and most of my pictures are taken with a "spot light". Usually a lamp with a flexible neck and a daylight bulb. The kind you'd use in a house. I'm also just using cell phone. You have a dslr. You can get some awesome pictures with that if you mess with the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. There is plenty of information online about photographing fish with a dslr.

But in my experience, the right kind of lighting makes a huge difference in the pictures. And patience. Lots of that lol.
