I don't recommend starting with anenomes. What kind of setup are you starting Fish Only, Fish Only With Live Rock, or Reef? After you answer that then we can go on to substrate and filtration. After that, well we will get there when we get there.

i agree most anenomes are difficult to keep - it would be easier to do some soft corals like mushrooms and zoos then getting an anenome - plus in a tank of that size you wouldnt be able to keep more then one anenome - my suggestion is do as much research as possible before setting up the tank (read forums, books, websites, lfs, etc.) you will be much happier, and waste a lot less money if you do it right the 1st time then making mistakes as you learn

i've been keeping fw fish for 15 years and no serious problems. i came to you guys cause your the experts with these matters.

i will do what you say is easiest. probably fish w/live rock.

Actually fish only is the easiest. But FOWLR I think is more fun. What kind of budget do you have? Or what kind of budget do you intend on keeping?

no experts here my friend :grinyes:

its all based on our experiences and the the knowledge we gather over the year that we have kept different fish/inverts, etc etc etc

what's a 'fowlr'?

i'm 40 yrs old, had a stroke last october, and a double bypass 2 yrs before. i'm sure i'll have enough to start. i've got a 55 that i can set up. it has two powerheads, a penguin h.o.t.(?) filter.

this is what really bites too. i have two more filters, but can't remember what they are called.

the 55 is set up fw know. i'll move them to a 30 gal. i'll do this all in 6-8 months when we move.

JESUS!!!

sorry to hear that :(

ok, now, fowlr mean fish only with live rock

now with the filter do you mean a penguin bio-wheel or a h.o.t. Magnum canister?

you should get a protein skimmer too
