I dont know if this is commonly done, but its my first time seeing it. how was that possible? anybody?

the second time I saw this was when some dude in youtube cooked a alive fish. slicing it, frying it, etc. and it was served alive. I saw that link of the video somewhere in the forums. although it is slightly off the hibernation topic, it was still wierd.

:screwy:

That vid is neat and weird at the same time.

But on your second topic

You can take a channel cat fish and cut the fillets off and throw them back in the water and they will swim off like there is nothing wrong.

I guess they enter a state of shock and just do what is normal.

Interesting to say the least...

No details were given to the process to prepare them for "non aquatic conditions"... Although I would assume it included cooling them off considerably which would therefore slow their metabolism... Although I'm sure there is more to it than just that...

I am a filpino myself but I do not know what a "buhi blend" is.
@nc_nutcase : i thought of the same thing too.

well if anybody knows, fill us up. :)
