My Kenyi go into the rocks and play hide and seek. It's kinda fun to watch, but then I started to wonder if that was normal. They both (I only have 2 Kenyi, and they're the only onesd that play) hide and peek out, but occaisionally one goes out to find the other, then they case each other around. I just did a water change on sunday, and there is a little bit of ammonia, but only about .15 ppm. Everything else is fine.

Assuming they're the size of the ones in your picture, they'll be fine. Check their fins to make sure they are not being nipped. My (labs) chase each other all the time without any harm.

How is your rockwork? they may be competing for territory as well.

There really should not be any ammonia, how long has the tank been set up?
My fish chase each other all the time, as long as they aren't hurting each other it's fine. In fact it's very normal.

it;s been set up since before the new year, but I've had the kenyi for about 6-8 weeks.

Raw, I have 2 rock formations, and I can fit like, 1 small one in there, which I will next time I go to the pet store.

They sound perfectly normal..chasing and hiding is what africans like to do best..
