I've had this setup since about last November with no issues, recently decided I'd like to have a schooling fish in the tank just for a change, something different. So went to lfs and they recommended black tetra, bought 40 and put them in the tank, now the discus seem a little nervous, never venturing too far from any wood and when I approach the tank they go mental, this has never happened before.
I should add that when I feed they all come out no problems.

Is this just because of new tank mates and all the discus will settle or have I been wrongly advised on the type of fish to add?

Many thanks.

No qt, I don't have the means to do this, although I know my lfs qt their fish for 6 weeks before bringing them down to the shop.
Besides they only went in yesterday, I doubt this is the case buddy.

the discus should be okay with the black neons..thats what i have...im sure they just need to adjust to the new tank mates...GL.

How many discus do you have? But yeah, the tetras may have bought some disease into the tank...............
