So in my tank there are plenty of hiding spots, the thing is i never get to see my favorite fish cause they are hiding 100% of the time, maybe i'll catch em when i turn the lights on in the morning but then they go back to hiding.
My question is how stressed out do you think they'll get if i take those hiding spots away? stressed enough for them to die? or will they eventually get over it? i see alot of tanks here on MFK, some are pretty much just glass squares with no decoration and the fish seem fine.

the best trick I've found for hiding fish is to give them things to hide under, not behind. that way they feel protected, and you get to see them.

So true if your fish feel secure they will be more active. Also try dither fish or lower lighing levels.
