i have a three inch fahaka with about 15 baby convicts they move alot and snatch food from him some. he really seem stress but i have seen him try to take bites out of a few of the convicts when they compete for food.. you think its best to keep him solo?

As long as you are not to worried about the convicts going missing I wouldn’t worry. If he was that stressed he would kill them. As long as he is eating and swimming about the tank I would really not worry to much. I had mine from day 1 with other fish and he was in a similar situation but grew up through it.

If its a big enough tank it will be ok, but if everyone is on top of each other its bad. That fahaka is going to be a lot more vulnerable for disease if stressed constantly right now. Convicts are tough as nails and pack a punch esp when the same size as something else.

I'm not 100%, but I think fahakas are wild caught. Which usually means parasites and deworming. So already weakened.

Pyru is correct. Fahakas are wild caught and need to be dewormed. They are also vulnerable to disease. I started my guy off in a bare bottom tank to get the parasites under control.
