I just tested my water today and was alarmed to find out the ammonium at 2-4 is there anything else I can do except stop feeding them and do water changes?

Dont know if this matters but Right now I have a veiled tiger Oscar and a Lima shovel nosed catfish in my tank

How long have you had the setup? Also if you use amquel some rest will register false positives. With ammonia this high your fish should display disturbing behaviors...are they still acting normal?

pending the size of your tank, 2 weeks should see some nitrite in the water. What is your nitrite levels?

Otherwise if the fish is acting normal; not gasping for air etc; just keep regular water changes and keep testing the water :)
