So ive wound up with a L240 vampire/galaxy pleco sold as a snowball pleco.
Seeing hes still a baby at a year old, i want to plan out his final home (he is in my 46g for now until he gets bigger).

I am thinking a nice high flow Orinoco biotope, temperature range 80-85F range, with a good current. Size: 75g+

Ideally looking for fish able to fit a high current tank and fit the temperature i need.

I wouldn't be opposed to some south American cichlids, but unsure if they could handle a good current. Planning on little to no plants, mostly a tannin-stained driftwood and rock river set up.

Given that this is a larger, potentially territorial pleco with other bottom dwellers (according to what I read, I would love personal experience with these plecos if possible!) That rules out my usual favourite bottom dwellers lol

However, if too limited, I'd be open to other high-flow species outside of South America as long as they're compatible temperature wise.

So, what would you suggest?

Bonus, photo of the wee little baby vampire

Maybe Leporinus and some sort of large characin like red-tips or silver dollars as well? I agree with the Crenicichla, I read "high temp fast flow" and immediately thought of them!

I can get silver dollars cheaper than the dwarf pikes, and easier to find, but man I think I've been sold on those dwarf pikes!

So ill have silver dollars on my list of backups though in case I can't locate the dwarf pikes in canada lol
