I was planning to upgrade my rhom's tank filter system...my question is do rhoms enjoy high flow/currents in the tank or still water???

what size is your rhom, tank and what kind of flow you have in mind?

should be fine. what type of filter? HOB or canister?
if the current seems too strong then just create some dead spots so it can have some rest spots.
I had a 4" in 75g with 900gph canister filter, it was fine.

its one of the odysseas canister "mini fx5 type" filters off of ebay....they say its around 500gph? will it pump out at least 300 gph at about 3ft of head?

I use a large pond filter, really a large sponge(6" in diameter) with an airstone in it, 2 in my large(13") Peruvian blk Rhoms tank and 1 each in my gold piranhas(6") and guyana blks(6")tank, no other filter. I use prime ,stress zyme and Ph 7 at every water change, do 15% water change every week. Never overfeed, I feed smelt once or twice a week. Smelt is a fish(frozen) that can be found at the grocery store, or specialty fresh fish store, about 7 dollars for a 3lbs bag. Had them on this for years, GP for 6years the others for about 3.

canister filters don't suffer any head restriction it's part of the design it will suffer restriction from media however. Should atleast put out 300 gph

no such thing as too much flow for a rhom (ok it's an exageration but not by much)
