high nitrates

i know i shouldn't let it go for 2 weeks but it was out of my control.my question is if i do 1/4% water changes daily until nitrates are acceptable will it hurt my bacteria population.right now my nitrates are above 80.oh its a 65 gallon.????THANKS

Howdy,

no problem. Just use a good water conditioner. Bacteria will remain unaffected as long as you do not clean your biofilter at the same time.

i change my water 70% twice a week!!!

bacteria are unaffected, and my tank is moderatly over stocked.
