High nitrites!! Help

Hi all, I'm out of ideas and I need some help. For the past 2 weeks my nitrites have been off the chart. I'm using the api master test kit. I'v been doing 30-40% water changes everyday but its not dropping at all. I have 0 ppm ammonia and approx 10 ppm nitrates. So lost...

Prolonged period of nitrite in the nitrogen cycle is normal. Keep up with the wcs and one day, maybe tomorrow, maybe in two weeks, it will drop. If fish are distressed add a little salt...

Thanks. Luckily I only have a sailfin pleco in there and he seems to be doing fine with the seachem prime and water changes. Thanks for the advice.
