Hey all,

I have recently set up a fluidized bio sump and im looking into getting a high output air pump to agitate the bio-balls & the K1 MMBR's that are in the sump. The problem is... every "Commercial" air pump i see for sale looks like its cheap as hell. Not only have i read about these pumps, how hot they get, how noisy they are and just generally how unreliable they are.

What are my options people? Somone has to have a better option than these "Commercial" style air pumps.

Thanks everybody, cant wait to start posting here more. Just bought a 1" lil baby Red Tail Cat, plus i have a 125g with a bunch of Bichirs.

Love this site, i mean everyone here has been nothing but amazing. I feel like ive gone to another level with the info ive read from these forums.

SO THANKS!

most people will agree.. ALITA air pumps..i have them in all my setups and get great air, longevity and performance.my systems are all large.i would assume a 25lpm or 40lpm would be enough for your needs.

I use some pistonpumps that are noisy as hell, one eheim something that pumps 1800L/h and one high-blow 80 the two later is silent and you have to touch them to see if they are on. Both are quite expensive i shifts alot of air. I boil an ibc tank with 800L water if i want with my high-blow pump

I have ran several Medo la-80bn compressors for over a decade and love them.
