im getting better at this... just added new sand (cichlid sand) and some live plants, also got the water crystal clear... ill post a full tank shot tomorrow, i just forgot to take one

Nice bichirs and nice pics. How did you get the picture to turn out so perfect? I always get the stupid white spot in the picture from the flash. Did you turn on the tank light and turn off the room light?

i dont use flash, i use two big shop lights with the long 48'' flourescent bulbs, its plenty light, the room lights definately need to be turned off so that you dont cath your reflection in the glass...

and about the white spots, i take them out with photoshop when i crop the pictures

and that is a polypterus weeksii
 
another secret i use in photoshop is that i play with the "levels" feature in photoshop to get my black background PITCH black, that way i can remove little while spots with just a black paint brush, also i can remove elements in the picture that make it look bad, for instance another fish in the picture, or floating food
