Forget Google Sketch, AutoCad, or even MSPaint, you just can't go past 1:1 scale modelling!! I've been deliberating over the dimensions of my next tank for quite some time now, so while moving my crates of home-brew from the garage to the beer cellar (aka spare bedroom wardrobe) I decided to have a go at doing an actual-size build to get a feel for the dimensions;

After a lot of tweaking and contemplating I settled on 260x105x65cm, ~1770L, which nearly fills the available space but leaves just enough room to squeeze down the side to access the overflow that will be in the right hand back corner. So long as I don't over-do it with the home brew!!! The top of the tank will only be 110cm high as I'll only make the stand 45cm tall so it is the right height for viewing while seated, long-term I'm hoping to turn this into a bit of a man-cave rather than a fish related junk storage room...
Emailing the tank maker now to get a price for the glass, hoping to have it well under way by xmas!
