what would be the best set of fish for a high traffic area ( 125 tank right by back door ) flowerhorns ; jaguars ; texans , at the moment all are young, 3" or so .

those are all good big cichlids that aren't affraid of people are what i'd go for

Who will be around the tank ? children , friends , family ?

family, dogs ,birds ,kids, a wayward waterdragon now and again, was thinking about oscars but haven't seen any high quality ones in a while, missed a chance on some striking red tigers.

Well I think your doing it right big cichlids that aren't afraid of anything. Watch the f/h aggresion though some can't be kept with other fish.
