with higher tank temps does that mean a faster growth rate for some fish ? (oscars/jack dempseys/african cichlids/mbunas/peacock bass) and of coarse if ya feed them well enough too lol

Ok, so what if temp are between 81-87deg for first while till they grow to about say 8" and then drop it back to 80 or less will it slow down the growth rate too ?? How hot is too hot and how cold is a no no ?

I've heard of people with juvie pbass keeping their temps in the high 80's but I think mostly to avoid disease such as ich. I wouldn't go much above 85 but living here in FL our canals get into the 90's during the day and there are often pbass and oscars living there. But the nights cool down as well which is why I would say 85 in my opinion would be a good constant temp while juvies. I'd tune it down to 78 or so when they're larger and more aggressive.

I kept my pbass at 85. Mostly because I read that's what most people do with young pbass. Mine went from under 2" to about 8" in 6+ months time.
