I saw in another thread another member say something about this? Is there any truth to it? Would say keeping your tank at 77 degrees yield less agression than say a tank at 82?

Yes, warmer tank = more aggression.

Warmer water speeds up digestion and metabolism so fish get hungrier faster and you know how mean hungry fish can get. They will also be more active. People also use higher temps to grow their fish faster so they can feed them more often and to fight off sickness/disease's. Overfeeding will decreases your fishes lifespan though.

i have heard the same from very reputable fish keepers, its logical, the higher the temp the more active my fish are.

Agree with ya, question though, why then is it recomended to lower the temp when treating for injuries, diseases etc,..

I've never once heard to lower the temps to heal injuries or disease. It's the exact opposite. Every time I'm dealing with injuries and disease I increase my temperature and add at least 1 more airstone to my tank. Warm water, oxygen, and sometimes (not always) salt is the key to healing up fish.

I've never heard that either? I usually raise the temp to treat disease. I have noticed my fish more active with higher temps.

Thanxs, i've also heard that, actually heard it both ways,..just wanted to know for sure,..

Cichlids also go into breeding mode in warmer water. Even though there may be a lack of a partner, the drive is still there and with it comes the increase in territorial aggression.

Agree on both accounts. Try to stick with a "happy medium" temp with normal healthy conditions. Increase for treatment.
