I recently came upon a rather underfed clown (no sign of IP, just thin) and have been feeding this stuff I had laying around...

This stuff has been seriously beefing up my clowns. I don't plan on feeding it regularly, but have been happy with the results for this purpose. ALL my clowns love it, even my BGK will eat it.

Wonder if they will be sad when they go back on lower protein food? :naughty: Somehow, I don't think they will be too upset.

thats quite handy cos i got three clowns recently, maybe an inch or so long. One of them is healthy and doing well, whilst the other two look really skinny and underfed. Should i invest in some sort of protein pellets such as the one above??

Thanks.

You should be sure your loaches do not have "skinny disease." My one loach that was underfed came from a community tank of angelfish where he only got leftover flake. :screwy: You could say I "rescued" him.

I would say it would not hurt to feed them high protein for a few weeks. Mine also get a good amount of frozen bloodworms, as that is the staple for some of the other oddball fish in my tank.

Any hi quality pellet is good for them, but hi protein is even better. Many of us prefer NLS foods, but there's nothing wrong with Hikari. The bottom line is variety is whats best for loaches, and they need a good amount of fresh veggie to supplement the prepared foods you give them. I think a slice of zucchini or cucumber once a week is minimum.
