Hikari Food Sticks

So, I just started using Hikari food sticks for my Aro and other fish (was using Hikari gold, but I got a deal on a bag of food sticks). So I always vary their diet with peeled prawns, worms, etc, but ever since I started with the food sticks, my Aro will not even touch his favorite peeled prawns. Is this normal? He only eats the sticks............

My Jar usually eats sticks only, but every so often he gets beef heart or giant mealworms. I quit feeding shrimp after my 28" silver died of a stray shell in his gut.

My Jar attacks anything i put in his tank.shrimps,sticks,live, and the occasional Red hook silver dollar.

yea the fish sticks are good , also feed shrimp you get from the market

I use carnivore sinking pellets also

mine did this.... the food sticks are better anyway... he would still take some shrimp though and after awhile would hit the silver sides again... but i always try for pellets as daily food....

Thanks man. I'm glad that your aro did the same as mine. I feed pellets everyday, but I just want him to have a varied diet. I'll just be patient with him, cuz he still has a huge appetite!!!

mine only eats food sticks... nothing else.. ive tried shrimp and no response. he wont even eat guppies.. lol

mine eats the pellets i feed daily but loves blood worms and w/e meat i find in the fridge. stopped feeding it feeders though so it's not as aggresive right now.

mine would only eat shrimps and cut beef...and refuses to touch any kind of pellets...
