I usually try to keep my Severum from eating these pellets when I feed my Dats, but he occasionally sneaks in and grabs one. I feel like Massivore is too high in protein and too large for him, and might cause problems like bloat and such, but he is so greedy it's hard to stop him. Anyone else feed Massivore to their cichlids and have you ever experienced any problems with it?

i think your correct in thinking they are too much protein and too big.. try and feed the severum first.,. and then when you throw in the massivore pellets break them in half..so incase the sev gets it at least it won't be too big..

my sev absolutely loves mini massivore, and it is great for growth
as far as ctenepoma they are predators so i would not worry about it, on the other hand sevs are naturally omnivorous

Wait is it too much protein for something like Ctenopoma?!? Sorry, just worried....Massivore is great for Carni's though Bichirs :):headbang2

Ctenopomas have a huge mouth for a reason. :)

Yeah, I try to feed my cichlids first, my aro won't touch cichlid gold or excel so I feed that til the sevs & JD have the edge taken off, then it's carnivore & krill for the arowana & chalceus. The sevs still grab some but at least I know they're getting the other stuff too.
