Thinking of adding another food source to my rays diet. What do you think of these carnivore pellets or other sinking formulated foods. A 2.2 lb bag of hikari i can get for around $55.00. It is freeze dried so i would assume they would consume less food than something like raw shrimp or smelt, however i can get 2 lb of shrimp for $10.00. One thing i think about is better waste control, but for the cost of this food i am trying to justify its expense.
Whats your experience with this food or ones like it?

Thanks john

I using massivore for larger rays and the carnivore pellets for the small rays. I have a few rays eating it right now. I just rotate it in for food with the ones that are eating it.

I have several rays and when I feed the Hikari Massivore Delite sinking pellets my leo is the only one who eats it. The others rays will either float over them or spit them out. BTW, I pay $30.00 13.4 oz, its expensive.

You can usually get good quality frozen shrimp for $5-$6/lb on sale...seems weird that human food would be cheaper than fish food, but night crawlers, black worms and pelletized foods are all much more expensive

I use NLS 5mm sinking pellets. Quite honestly I like the carnivore hikariu better as they seem to react better with the rays guts, but I have been feeding my rays NLS for probably a year with no ill effect and they love them.

Cost is way...less. $70 for a 5 pound pail

I fed sinking carnivor and massivore and my one ray would also swim to the top for hikari food sticks.... all this with shrimp, silversides and ocasional night crawlers made for very very fat happy rays

What is NLS i might be interested in that. i know i go threw a lot of food and to use hikari brand would add up if i could wean them on eating them. dose any one feel that the rays are consuming less with the pellets that it is worth the expense?
