I've become pretty interested in these lil guys over the past few days from researching. I see that they like alot of current. So I've been looking how to meet their current needs. After looking at some sites it seems this is the best plan.

I get that one sides has power heads, but what does the other side actually do. Will the current from the power heads get pushed through the sponges and go back to the power head. IDK I'm sort of lost, can anyone help explain that part of this setup.

I want to go small scale with this(55 tank) and see how it works and fix any problems that arise and go large scale(my 125) if everything works out right. Thanks!

Correct but this one is the flaw. The straight turnover wears out the motor very easily. I had noticed that with three of my powerheads lasting only a few months. If I were you, divert the flow by letting it bounce to the glass walls thus indirectly hitting the sponges and minimizing the wearing out. You could divert the flow using rocks and driftwoods.

Okay kool, I was planning on having round rocks and what not for them to manuever on and around. They will help with bouncing the current off of walls. Thanx.
