Do you mean to say the ID is yours? I'm still learning the basics about mahseers. I've not met with this common name applied to tor tor, unless you are throwing a curveball of sorts :)

That's so true about them! And rubbing their snouts on the glass too.

The tor tor and the tor putitora do share the river system.

The tor tor and the tor putitora look exactly the same, there's notmuch physical difference

The tor tor is also spread out to central India.

The problem with Tor tor and tor putitora is, it's difficult to identify without gene sequencing. As there are two separate train of thoughts,

Some identify tor tor based on locality, but tor tor are apparently migratory and travel long distances.
 
Interesting. Thanks much. I will look into it more. I didn't know / expected that tor tor and tor putitora are indistinguishable.
