WHat I thought was just a blemish is HITH. All other fish are fine (pearsei/oscar/electric dempsey)
Nitrates are 5.0 ppm
PH is 8
I do 60% wc a week

Any ideas for treatment?

The issue is the 8.0 PH. The only suggestion I have is to up the water changes to possibly keep HITH from getting worse. Do fin level wc's weekly.
What type of test kit do you use?

I agree.
The JD, and pearsei, come from naturally high pH water in Central America, so have evolved to resist those higher pH loving bacteria.
Oscars normally don't have that immunity, the water is much softer and generally lower in pH in S America around 7 (or below), so less immunity to these chronic disease causing bacteria.
And the bacteria that cause HITH, thrive in pH above 7.5., not the bacterial species Oscars have a natural immunity to, like C Americans do.
To keep oscars free of HITH, more frequent and larger water changes are needed to prevent it.
To me 40% of the entire tanks water every other day would not be overkill.

I put the oscars in the 125 (alone full grown at 9" ) Ill use the neutral buffer for them....7ish PH should work...?
