I noticed two holes on the "nose" of my midevil that weren't his nostrils.
At first I only noticed one and instantly thought it was hith. But under different lighting I noticed another one in what looks like the symmetrically opposite side. So... is it normal for cichlids (or amphs) to have an extra set of nostrils or big sensory pits? I thought sensory pits were tiny. Like pin pricks but these look like nostrils.
I posted about in the "sick fish" or whatever forum but now I'm not so sure if it's hith or not.

Anyways, here's a picture. It's not the best but down and to the left of his nostril is the hole. It's hard to see because of his color. IMG_8322.jpg

not something I have seen in any of my fish, sounds like it could be the start of HITH or LLE. I'll go double-check, but i'm pretty sure none of my fish have it.
