He's had those marks for as long as I've had him.
a little info:
amonia-0
nitrite-0
nitrate-5-7.5
ph-7.6
temp-80deg.
Only 4inch EBJD and small bristlenose in a 55gal tank with a sand bottom. Fluval 305 canister filter. I do a 30% water change every week.
Diet-Hikari pellets and on occasion Hikari frozen bloodworms/brine shrimp and I know he eats some of the Hikari algea waffers I put in there for the bristlenose.
Anyways, I've never seen any white stringy poo until today from him. He always eats well. I haven't noticed any strange behavior.

Any ideas? He does have a lot of the same marks on the other side of his face in the same spots

I have had similar problems with EBJD's, one thing that helped was a UV sterlizer....
The other thing that I think would help a lot is the hardness/ph of the water.....they like softer lower ph water.....RO would do it.....my water is hard and around 7.7-7.8
I have had 4 EBJD'as from 4"-8" all at one time or another had some white stringy poo, and also would get heavey slime coat from time to time.....
sometimes the belly's would bloat up....like an internal bact. infection......
